最近,筆者聽了一節(jié)課,上課內(nèi)容是《牛津小學英語》1aunit 6“on a farm”第一教時,主要學習句型“it’s a…/what’sthis?”以及相關的詞匯“a cat,adog,a duck'’等,本文主要結(jié)合這節(jié)課中的幾個片段和大家一起探討猜謎游戲在小學英語教學中的作用。

[片段1]在學生初步掌握了幾個動物單詞的讀法以后。

老師安排了這樣一個環(huán)節(jié)來進行單詞的操練。

t:do you like games?s:yes!t:shall we play a guessing game?s:aⅱright.running race動畫展示三種動物賽跑場景,請學生們分別選擇喜愛的動物,在賽跑過程中大聲朗讀該動物的名稱,為其“加油”。

[淺析]一個簡單的猜謎游戲把學生從教室“領”到了運動場,學生爭先恐后地為自己的“運動員”加油,哪個小動物能贏得比賽呢?結(jié)果似乎已經(jīng)不那么重要,重要的是學生已經(jīng)很好地掌握了這幾個單詞。

[淺析】教師在猜謎游戲之后適時地進行句型的練習,讓學生體驗到“用學會的語言做事情”的快樂,充分調(diào)動了學生的各種智能,激發(fā)了學生學習英語的興趣,使學生在不斷的“探究”中不知不覺地進入了模擬情境——on the farm,優(yōu)化了學習效果。

[片段3]游戲進行得很順利,大部分學生仍沉浸在猜謎的喜悅氣氛中,可有少數(shù)的學生開始坐不住了,怎么辦呢?t:大家都很喜歡表演,我就請

[淺析]教師根據(jù)學生的好動的特點,及時安排學生進行act and guess的游戲,把課堂氣氛再次推向了高潮,愛動的學生在表演過程中再次鞏固了所學的內(nèi)容,真正實現(xiàn)了“玩中學”的最高境界。學生通過自身的表演與參與,變被動的學習為主動的探究,正如蘇霍姆林斯基所說:“在兒童的內(nèi)心深處都有一種根深蒂固的需要,那就是希望自己是一個發(fā)現(xiàn)者、研究者、探索者?!睂W生通過對小動物的理解,再用肢體語言表達出來,加深了記憶。同時猜的過程不僅能讓學生更好地復習鞏固,同時也增加了學生的自信心與成就感。

[片段4]通過以上的練習,大多數(shù)同學都掌握了所學的內(nèi)容,教師又安排了一個listen and guess的環(huán)節(jié)來進行鞏固和生成的練習。

[淺析]通過這個環(huán)節(jié)有效地鞏固了所學內(nèi)容,也讓學生從動態(tài)的課堂氣氛中逐漸安靜下來,因為“聽”的過程就是一個安靜下來并獲取信息的過程?!队⒄Z課程標準》明確指出:小學英語教學的主要目標是培養(yǎng)學生的良好語音、語調(diào)和良好的聽、說、讀、寫的習慣,為今后的發(fā)展打下堅實的基礎。而這個listen and~uess環(huán)節(jié)的設計有效地培養(yǎng)了學生“聽”的習慣。執(zhí)教教師的這個環(huán)節(jié)真可謂是“獨具匠心”。同時,guess的過程還會有效調(diào)動學生的潛能。

[教學感悟]

以上是一節(jié)精彩的課,針對一年級學生來說,guessinggame游戲帶給他們的是快樂的學習,那么中高年級的guessing game是否同樣有效呢?以下是筆者根據(jù)自己的教學實踐所得的幾點體會。

一、將guessing game應用于復習已學的單詞,引出新的單詞

在教授新的單詞之前,我先準備了一個magic bag,放人一物品并且指出該物品的類別,讓學生猜一猜,學生猜的過程就是一個很好的學習過程。

在教ball這個單詞時,我在黑板上畫了一個圓,然后問學生:“what am i drawing now?'’學生的回答是各種各樣的——“anapple?an orange?a head?…”,最后引出ball這個單詞。通過做(~uessing game,學生很好地復習了已學過的知識,還對新的知識產(chǎn)生了非常深刻的印象。

二、將guessing galtle應用于區(qū)別單詞,強化記憶

在教授完he與she時,雖然經(jīng)過教師再三講解,學生對其用法已經(jīng)很明白,但在實際應用過程中仍有一部分學生犯錯。這時我就適時的穿插了 guessing game,邀請一位同學到講臺前背對著大家,再請下面的一位同學用變聲的方法說話讓講臺上的同學猜,最后請講臺上的同學用“he is/she is,’來指認該同學。如果猜對,同學們會爆以熱烈的掌聲,如果猜錯或是搞錯了同學的性別則會引起哄堂大笑。通過游戲?qū)W生區(qū)分了單詞,強化了記憶。

三、將guessing game應用于句子的操練

把guessing game應用于句子的操練也能收到很好的效果。在教“is that a(an)…?”及其回答“yes,it is./no,it isn’t.”時,我?guī)ьI同學們做了一個guessing game的游戲,我先選定教室里的一樣東西,然后把這樣物品的單詞寫在一位同學的手心上,請其他的同學用“isthat a(an)…?”向該同學提問,并請這位同學用“yes,it is./no,it isn’t.”來作出肯定或否定的回答,同學們各個踴躍參加。

通過游戲,學生掌握了句型,增加了英語學習的興趣,還有效地活躍了課堂氣氛。

總之,在平常的教學中,只要教師能夠做個“有心人”,善于把握學生的好奇心和學生的興奮點,用好、用巧guessinggame,就能使課常妙趣橫生,引人人勝。
